Collector's Plate (formerly Black Plate) It was created after the new Brazilian Traffic Code of 23/09/1997 (Law 9,503) came into force. With the new safety rules, old vehicles would need to undergo modifications and adaptations that would detract from their originality, in addition to the difficulty of installing in some models, such as the three-point seat belt, headrest, side mirror, Break Light between other items that have become mandatory under the law. ​ For the vehicle to receive the collector's license plate, it needs to be evaluated and approved by a certifying entity accredited by DENATRAN, we are through Ordinance No. 209 of DENATRAN. We are able to examine the mandatory items and the safety of old vehicles of any make or model, domestic or foreign, both for obtaining and maintaining the black plate, as well as for regularizing the importation of vehicles over thirty years old. ​ One of the reasons collectors and admirers want the collector's plaque is the value it provides. It also frees the vehicle from vehicular gas emission inspections (which will be mandatory for all vehicles in the coming years across the country) and in the event of an accident with total loss, the vehicle will be assessed as an old collection vehicle and not a car old, and our assessment of the real value may be presented in case of legal need.
